The long awaited Nigerian movie “Okafor’s Law” was finally allowed to hit the cinemas this weekend. After some controversies behind the movie and why it shouldn’t air here, the court removed the injunction on it and I just needed to see this movie. I would say it was a cool movie with a nice story line and interesting actors, but with just one fault, the audio. It wasn’t loud enough and some of us missed out on the action.
The 1hr 52mins feature film was simply lovely with A-list actors doing what they know best. The lead actor, Blossom Chukwujekwu killed it for me. Other actors featured were producer, Omoni Oboli, Gabriel Afolayan, Richard Mofe Damijo, Ufuoma McDermott, Kemi Lala Akindoju and Ken Erics. This movie was a simple drama with a nice twist and comedy.

Okafor’s law was a movie trying to prove to us the veracity of a theory. Once a guy has had a girl before, he can always easily have her again. This theory was about to be proven once again until one of the male characters fell in love with one of the girls and dropped out of the game. He even lost a percentage of his company shares to this bet. Some people in the cinemas kept arguing for and against the theory. The truth is this was a movie that kept the audience guessing.
The nice twist to this movie was at the end when the main character changed and asked one of the girls to marry him. Still, my favorite part was when “Tomi” one of the three ladies who were a part of the bet got angry and switched from British English to strong Yoruba, insulting “Chuks” so badly as she felt hurt. He was the lead actor also known as “Terminator” for his randy attitudes with girls and he got served in his own coin.
What is my verdict on “Okafor’s Law”? It deserves a 7.5/10 because they had good actors, a nice story line, cast and production. An exception needs to be made for the audio though. This is generally a good movie if you need to have a good laugh this weekend.
