MINILS vows to strengthen collaboration with stakeholders
In a bid to ensure harmonious labour relations between employers and employees, Michael lmoudu National institute for Labour Studies (MlNILS), llorin has declared that it would continue to collaborate with stakeholders.
Saliu lsiaq-Alabi, the Director-General of the institute, made the assertion in llorin at the inaugural induction for 37 associates of the institution.
The 37 new associates who undergone three months training at the institute were drawn from various fields of human endeavours across Nigeria.
According to lsiaq-Alabi, the institute would collaborate with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Office of Head of Service of the Federation and labour leaders toward attaining efficient and effective labour relations.
He called on labour leaders, employers of labour and other stakeholders in the industry to acquire proficiency certificates in labour relations.
Isiaq-Alabi, advised the new associates to fully utilise the knowledge they acquired by impacting positively and offering implementable solutions to industrial and labour relations challenges.
Johnson Adeoti, the Head, Department of Industrial Relations and Personnel Management, University of llorin, in his lecture, called on stakeholders in labour industry to always employ a flexible approach on labour issues.
This, according to Adeoti, is the only way to achieve a conducive working relationship between employees and employers.
Sylvanus Adam’ade, Head of Department, Academic Distance Learning Programme, noted that the programme undergone by the new associates was recognised by the office of the Head of Service of the Federation.
Adam’ade also counselled them to utilise the acquired knowledge for a better working relationship in their various organisations.
The new inductees later sworn to oath of office under the supervision of an Assistant Director and Lecturer at the institute, AbdulRasaq Ajay.
Responding, Olufunmilayo Oluremi, the Class Governor of the new associates, thanked management of the Institute for the knowledge inculcated in them and support.
Oluremi, on behalf of others, promised that the inductees would utilise the knowledge for better labour relations.
