Bola Tinubu, the President of Nigeria, has commended Kresta Laurel Limited for its resilience, innovation, and contribution to infrastructure development.

The President’s commendation was contained in a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, where he also praised the company’s longevity, attributing it to effective management and sound business practices.

An engineering firm and a major player in the elevator and escalator industry with a strong presence in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Uyo, and Ibadan, Kresta Laurel has been in operation for 35 years.

Onanuga’s statement was part of President Tinubu’s goodwill message to the company in celebration of its 35th anniversary.

“Kresta Laurel Limited is a recipient of the African Order of Merit in Cranes, Escalators, and Elevator Technology,” the statement noted, adding that the company’s belief in the Nigerian market is commendable.

Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment also commended Kresta Laurel and its founder for sustaining the company from inception through 35 years of operation.

She described the milestone as a remarkable feat within Nigeria’s business ecosystem, particularly for a firm operating in the technology-driven electromechanical sector. Her remarks highlighted the importance of long-term vision, leadership, and innovation in building enduring institutions.

In the same vein, Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance, sent in a congratulatory message, acknowledging the company’s contributions to Nigeria’s economic development. He emphasized that Kresta Laurel’s journey reflects the strength of indigenous enterprise and its role in shaping the nation’s infrastructure landscape.

At the company’s 35th Anniversary Gala and Award Night held in Lagos, Edun noted that the milestone reflects more than just time—it signifies impact.

“You enable modern architecture to reach the skies. You are the silent backbone of our urban landscapes,” he said, urging the company and the industry to embrace smart cities, IoT, and sustainability.

Gbenga Daniel, Founder and Group Chairman of Kresta Laurel Limited, called on Nigerians to believe in the country’s potential. He recalled the company’s bold beginnings in 1990, driven by the conviction that African engineers could deliver world-class vertical and horizontal transportation systems.

“Our mission has always been to advance Nigeria’s infrastructure through robust electromechanical systems,” Daniel said, highlighting the company’s expansion into cranes, UPS systems, and façade access equipment.

Dideolu Falobi, the company’s managing director, expressed pride in their achievements and optimism for the future. He outlined plans to expand across sectors, pioneer renewable and environmentally friendly solutions, and build the capacity of young Nigerian engineers.

“We are proud of what we have achieved in three and a half decades, but we are even more excited about the future,” Falobi said. “A country that does not invest in its engineers is a country that will end up importing even the bolts and nuts for its dreams,” he added.

Kresta Laurel Limited, incorporated in 1984 and operational since 1990, has grown into a multi-billion-naira enterprise. Its 35th anniversary celebration showcased its journey of growth, resilience, and commitment to Nigeria’s industrial development.
