…As Mercy Ezekiel emphasizes modern design standards to attract younger generation
In a jubilant display of faith and progress, The Lord’s Worshippers Assembly in Addo-Ajah, Lagos, officially dedicated its multi-million-naira Covenant Sanctuary—an ultra-modern place of worship that symbolizes spiritual growth and community hope.
The vibrant dedication ceremony drew distinguished church leaders, influential industry captains, clergy members, representatives from the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Addo-Ajah chapter, and Christian faithful from across Nigeria. The event was presided over by Rev. Mercy Ezekiel, general overseer of the Christian Pentecostal Mission International (CPM).
Ezekiel praised the new sanctuary as a milestone achievement, describing it as both architecturally beautiful and a testament to the resilience and vision of the local church leadership.
“This structure is one of the finest places for worship, and I thank God for blessing us with it despite numerous challenges,” she remarked.
She also highlighted the importance of incorporating modern design standards to attract younger generations and create an inviting environment for all worshippers.
Senior Pastor Owen Nlekwuwa of Oliver Bible Church delivered a message titled, ‘Explosive Grace,’ emphasizing the divine partnership between God and His people in building lives and communities.
Quoting Hebrews 3:4, he reminded the congregation that “every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God,” underscoring God’s role as the ultimate architect.
Nlekwuwa urged attendees to honor their commitments to God, associating dedication with both spiritual and physical endeavors. Drawing from biblical stories of faith and divine favor, he encouraged believers to harness God’s “explosive” grace—an empowering force capable of transforming lives and societies through unwavering faith and covenant-keeping.
The celebration was not only a spiritual milestone but also a call for communal engagement to foster unity and shared purpose. Prayers of dedication sealed the event, with members reaffirming their commitment to align their lives and community efforts with divine guidance.
Rev. Calistus Nkwo, the church’s general overseer, described the sanctuary’s unveiling as a fulfillment of a long-held dream, emphasizing that it stands as a beacon of hope, excellence, and divine faithfulness. “This is more than a building; it’s a symbol of what faith, perseverance, and dedication can achieve. It will serve as a hub for spiritual renewal and community transformation,” he affirmed.
His wife, Pastor Helen Nkwo, expressed joy over the project, highlighting its role in uplifting the local community. She shared her optimism about the church’s outreach initiatives, particularly targeting youth empowerment, drug rehabilitation, and family support. “With this new sanctuary, we expect to see significant positive changes in Addo-Ajah, especially among the youth,” she said.
David Echegwusi, chairman of the Planning Committee, revealed that the celebration coincided with Children’s Day and his birthday, featuring outreach programmes such as dinner with rehabilitated drug addicts and community service by the Women of Dynamic Excellence. He praised the transformative impact of these efforts, noting that many of those involved have undergone remarkable personal renewal and now contribute positively to society.
Reflecting on the event’s significance, Echegwusi emphasized, “This outreach is truly a work of grace. Seeing those once troubled now thriving and helping with the project shows how faith can turn lives around. It’s especially vital in an era where social vices threaten our youth. We thank God for this incredible transformation.”
The dedication of the new Covenant Sanctuary marks a significant chapter in the church’s journey of faith, community service, and hope—an inspiring testament to the power of divine grace and collective effort.
