Lagos Central Baptist Conference celebrates Rev. Akerele’s leadership qualities

Members of the Lagos Central Baptist Conference have celebrated the leadership qualities of its president, Victor Bamidele Akerele.

Ayodeji Ayopo, who spoke on behalf of other Conference members, described Akerele, who recently clocked 55, as a forward-looking and proactive individual.

According to him, Akerele speaks at both academic and Church Conferences with a personal philosophy of life that reads, “living for Jesus in season and out of season.”

Ayopo disclosed that Akerele does all within his reach to effectively communicate his vision and lead the thousands of Baptist faithful in the Lagos Central Baptist Conference. “Akerele undoubtedly is very passionate and keen in order to raise the bar of spiritual leadership. A man destined to soar beyond mundane issues,” he said.

Akerele began his pastoral ministry about three decades ago and spent two decades and four months as the pastor of First Baptist Church, Festac Town, Lagos. For this long period, Akerele provided vibrant and exemplary leadership for the church. “The church waxed stronger and grew in leaps and bounds during his tenure.”

He demonstrated a positive mindset, and his leadership opened new chapters of spiritual growth and physical development for the church. According to Ayopo, Akerele is both visionary and exemplary in his leadership style. “One major strategic focus for Akerele is his youth-centric focus.

“He places so much premium on youth development, and this helped several youth to discover their potential and excel in their chosen fields of human endeavour.”

Ayopo stated that Akerele is well-grounded in academics, as an avid reader and author of several books. Akerele studied Human Resources at the Metropolitan School of Business and Management, UK.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators of Nigeria (FIPMAN). He is also a certified leader and seasoned Strategic Human Resources Manager.

He holds a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) from the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomosho, Oyo State and a Ph.D from the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, respectively.

He is a member of the Nigerian Association of Biblical Studies and the Nigerian Association for Christian Studies
