Christian Conscience, a non-denominational Christian group in Lagos, has called on Nigerians across the divides to eschew politics of hatred and bitterness, as the country gradually moves towards the 2027 general elections.
In a joint statement signed by Yetunde Akinluyi and Kolawole Verrals, chairman and secretary respectively, the group urged Nigerians to allow governance to run its course for the love of the nation.
“We have watched with keen interest public discourse on what should happen in the 2027 general elections. The present government of Asiwaju Tinubu has just spent two years in office, the coalition is in earnest,” it stated, indicating that only God can enthrone Leaders.
The group cautioned that desperate office-seeking politicians cannot cause a change of government, rather genuine change can only be carried out by the voting populace. It therefore, urge Nigerians to carry out their civic rights by collecting their permanent voters’ card (PVC) from INEC.
