OVH Energy, the company behind the Oando retail brand in West Africa, has said the fire incident which occurred in one of its terminals at its petroleum tank depot at No. 6 Bonny Road, Apapa, Lagos State is under control.
“We confirm preliminary information about the incident reveals that the fire emanated from a tank within the terminal,” OVH Energy said in a press statement.
The company also noted that an investigation has been launched to ascertain other details that led to the fire incident while also admitting that as at the time of this report, there are no casualties recorded.

“We have a team of professional fire fighters on ground to manage the outbreak,” OVH Energy said.
“Safety remains our priority at OVH Energy as we operate under high safety standards to curb incidences of fire outbreaks as well as other health and safety risks from happening at any of our stations,” it said.
Earlier in May 2020, fire erupted at Oando’s filling station in Obalende area of Lagos that killed one person and injured several people.
