Binos Dauda Yaroe, senator representing Adamawa Senatorial District, has delivered free healthcare services to about 1000 constituents in Dashen Community, Jada Local Government Area.
The one-day medical outreach, held at the Dashen Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC), provided treatment to 972 patients, including 23 major and minor surgeries, according to the medical team.
Procedures conducted included herniorrhaphy (hernia repair), appendectomy, hydrocelectomy, and lumpectomy, among others. Several other cases ranging from hypertension, diabetes, malaria, typhoid, anaemia, peptic and pelvic inflammatory diseases were also treated. All patients received free medications.
Addressing journalists after the exercise, Adediran Charles Adekola, a consultant general surgeon at Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital (MAUTH) Yola and member of the outreach team, said the intervention recorded high turnout and smooth operations.
“We treated 972 cases with 23 surgeries completed. Peculiar cases have been referred to MAUTH Yola,” he said.
“If one person is sick, it affects the whole community, A society cannot move forward beyond the health status of its people, which is why health remains a top priority for Senator Binos.” he added
Roseline Esthon, the Facility Manager of PHCC Dashen, expressed gratitude for the gesture, noting that it was the first time the community was witnessing such a comprehensive outreach. She praised the professionalism of the medical team, describing them as the best she had worked with.
She also stressed that all services were entirely free-of-charge and urged residents to take advantage of the programme. He appreciated the District Head of Nyibango-Dashen for mobilising community members.
Earlier in his address, Ahmadu Baba Kebugangso, the District Head and Wamban Ganye, lauded Senator Binos for bringing relief to his people. Calling it an unprecedented intervention in Dashen’s history, he assured the senator of the community’s continued support as the 2027 general elections approach.
Some of the beneficiaries Abubakar Dashen, Beauty Ayuba Komsiri who had battled ailment for 12 years, said they had regained their health after receiving treatment at the outreach.
