Since the summer transfer window opened in July 1, LaLiga Santander clubs have been spending freely. With about two weeks to the close of the window, things are likely to become a bit more panicked for clubs that have not made any signings.
LaLiga clubs have already spent around €1.3 billion on talent this summer, making it the second highest spending league around, only second to Premier League with €1.53 billion.
The top five signings alone; Joao Felix, Antoine Griezmann,
Eden Hazard, Frenkie de Jong and Luka Jovic – accumulate to €482.2 million.

Real Madrid are the club to have spent the most so far, racking up 305.5 million euros in recruiting players.
Hazard and Jovic have been joined by Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy and Rodrygo. Next up are Atletico Madrid with their own impressive sum of 267 million euros. On top of Joao Felix, they have brought in Marcos Llorente, Renan Lodi, Kieran Trippier and Mario Hermoso, beating Barcelona’s 255 million euros in third place and fourth-placed Sevilla’s 149 million euros.

Atletio Madrid spending has been more affordable though, due to the incredible amount they have taken in. In all, they had 311 million euros come into the club through sales, with Barcelona next up on 146 million euros and Los Blancos in third on 115 million euros.

Only five sides have managed to maintain a positive balance between income and expenditure though, with the Rojiblancos topping the charts on €43.9 million. Villarreal come next, then Espanyol, Eibar, and Valladolid with just seven million euros.
