The Lagos State government has commenced repair work on Ozumba Mbadiwe Road in the Lagos metropolis. The repair work, which is done at night between 9pm and 6am, will last for seven days, starting from Monday, September 15, to Sunday, September 21, 2025.
A statement from the state’s Ministry of Transportation says the scope of work is the entire stretch of the road, from Bony Camp junction where id starts to Sandfill junction where it fuses into Lekki-Epe Expressway.
The statement signed by Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Commissioner for Transportation, explains that the repair work is scheduled for night time to ensure minimal impact on traffic.
Osiyemi appealed to motorists to be patient while driving through that corridor.
Ozumba Mbadiwe is the main arterial road that takes motorists from Lagos Island (CMS) to Lekki Phase 1, Ajah, Lakowe, Ibeji Lekki and Epe.
Among the corporate community, it is the city’s Silicon Valley as it is home to many high-rise buildings such as The Wings, The Waves, Civic Towers, 1004 Estate, Black Diamond Hotel, and many others, including those on which construction work is on-going.
