A statement by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, on Tuesday evening showed that the agreement had cleared way for the Unionisation of Dangote Group workers within two weeks from 9th to the 22nd of September, 2025.
The statement also noted that none of the Dangote workers would be victimised as a result of the trade dispute.

Recall that the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas workers (NUPENG) had embarked on strike over the refusal of Dangote Group to allow its workers to be unionised by the registered labour unions.
The Federal Government through Muhammad Dingyadi, Minister of Labour and Employment, however, called both patties for a reconciliation.
BusinessDay gathered that the disputes were resolved at a marathon meeting which started on Monday night and could not end until Tuesday evening.
According to the communique issued at the end of the meeting, Dangote Group agreed with the need to allow workers register with the relevant Labour Unions, adding that ” they are not adverse to the unionisation of their employees.
The Organised Labour also on their part agreed that “Since workers’ Unionisation is a right, in line with the provisions of the extant laws, the management of the Dangote Refinery and Unionisation of employees of Petrochemicals, who are willing to unionise.
“Arising from the strike notice, no worker or employee not the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical will be victimised”, the statement added.
Parties are expected to meet Minister of Labour in a week after the conclusion of the engagement.
“Bases in the MoU, NUPENG agreed to suspend the industrial action with immediate effect”, the statement noted.

Sayyu Dantata, representing the Dangote Group signed the communique on behalf of the organisation, while Benson Upah, representing the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and N. Toro, representing the Trade Union Congress (TUC) signed on behalf of the Organised Labour.
