Former Holland and Manchester City striker Wim Kieft has delivered a scathing assessment of Liverpool‘s current form, suggesting that embattled manager Arne Slot could face sack if results do not improve quickly.
Slot is under mounting pressure after a disastrous run of nine defeats in their last 12 matches, leaving the Reds battling to rediscover form and stability.

Liverpool face a daunting task on Sunday as they travel to the London Stadium to take on West Ham United, desperate to return to winning ways.
Writing in De Telegraaf, Kieft expressed serious doubts over Liverpool’s direction and recent big-money investments.
“By signing (Florian) Wirtz and (Hugo) Ekitiké for €137m and €80m, respectively, Liverpool took a costly risk,” he wrote. The midfielder and striker possess quality.

Nevertheless, this offers no guarantee that they can compete in English football. Success in the Premier League often requires more.”
Kieft also criticised the dramatic dip in form of Liverpool’s senior figures.
“After difficult and lengthy negotiations, everyone in Liverpool was delighted with the signings of captain Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, the two mainstays of last season’s success. However, they are unrecognisable,” he said.
“The defence with Van Dijk concedes an awful lot of goals. Salah’s performance is minimal. But surely those two haven’t suddenly forgotten their skills?”
Kieft added that Liverpool’s recent displays have been alarming.
“All in all, Liverpool’s performances against Nottingham Forest and PSV were staggering. There are no clues to halt the decline. Even the magical Arne Slot can’t turn this around overnight. He can’t conjure up goals. And what no one thought possible could easily happen: Slot being fired after two or three more poor results.”
