The body of the late former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to arrive soon in the ancient city of Katsina, where he will be taken to his home town, Daura, for the final burial rites.
Buhari’s body is being flown into the country from London, where he died on Sunday, in one of the Presidential Aircraft.
President Bola Tinubu is leading the delegation of the Federal Government to receive the body of the leader.
BusinessDay’s correspondent, who is on the ground in Katsina noted that many dignitaries have already arrived Katsina, and Daura, since Monday in preparation for the former president’s burial.
At the moment, the Umaru Musa Yar`adua International Airport in Katsina state capital is breezing with activities in readiness for the arrival of the body of the late leader.
Some of the dignitaries that were already in Katsina to receive the corpse, as at the time of filing this report, including the Governor of Katsina state, Dikko Radda, as well as the Governors of Lagos, Ogun, and Aminu Masari, former Katsina State governor.
Governors of Imo, Hope Uzodinma, Nasir El-Rufai, former Kaduna State governor; Ibikunle Amosun, and, the former Ogun State governor, Sa`ad Abubakar, Sultan of Sokoto, Isa Pantami, former communication minister, the Emir of Kazaure, Ahmad Dangiwa.
