Muhammadu Sanusi II, the 16th Emir of Kano, has led Muslims in Kano State in observing the two Eid prayers, also known as Sallah Raka’at, at the Kofar Mata praying grounds.
Aminu Ado Bayero, the 15th Emir, also performed similar exercise at the Nasarawa mini palace, where he led hundreds of Muslim worshippers in a prayer session.

BusinessDay noted that despite the separate locations, there was no tension or conflict between the supporters of the two figures instead, the atmosphere remained peaceful, with residents expressing their approval of the situation.
Both Sanusi and Bayero, in their separate sermons, called for peace, unity, and harmony among residents, emphasising the importance of following Prophet Muhammad’s teachings, particularly in helping the needy.
Some residents on Sunday commended the peaceful atmosphere that characterised the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations in the city, despite the ongoing emirate crisis.
Both Sanusi and Bayero in their separate sermons, call for peace , unity and harmony among residents.

They emphasised the importance of following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, particularly in helping the needy.
Sanusi during the after the prayer session, told the gathering that the decision by Police authorities in the state to ban the annual Durbar associated with the event in the state was done in the interest of peace, and called on residents of the state to abide with the decision.
