Members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Kwara State Chapter, on Monday, pledged stronger collaboration with the State Fire Service.
Kabiru Kolawole Zubair, the Association Chairman, gave the assurance when he led the new executives on a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the State Fire Service in Ilorin.
Zubair pledged that his administration would deepen the partnership between IPMAN and the Fire Service to further enhance public safety in Kwara, even as he commended the Fire Service for its unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
“We recognise the critical role of the Fire Service in safeguarding our communities. As petroleum marketers, we are committed to working hand in hand with the Service to ensure safer operations across Kwara State,” he said.
Responding, Falade John Olumuyiwa, the Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, expressed appreciation for the visit and urged IPMAN members to prioritise safety in their operations.
He advised marketers to service their fire extinguishers regularly, conduct routine truck inspections before journeys, and strictly avoid the use of underage drivers.
“The safety of lives and property remains our utmost priority. While we stand ready to respond to emergencies at all times, preventive measures are even more important,” Falade noted.
The visit reaffirmed the long-standing collaboration between IPMAN and the Kwara State Fire Service in promoting safety and protecting communities across the state.
