Stanbic, CSL, Rencap, others account for N133.435bn deals

Stock deals worth N133.435 billion in February were accounted for by Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited, CSL Stockbrokers Limited, Rencap Securities (Nig.) Limited, EFCP Limited, African Alliance Stockbrokers Limited, FBN Securities Limited, Apel Asset Limited, Chapel Hill Denham Securities Limited, Vetiva Capital Management Limited, and Partnership Securities Limited.

The value of deals these 10 stockbroking firms accounted for in February represents about 72.51 percent of the value of stocks traded that month on the floors of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), according to NSE broker performance report.

In the review month, Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited accounted for deals worth N32.268 billion, representing 17.53 percent; CSL Stockbrokers Limited (N22.978bn or 12.49%); Rencap Securities (Nig.) Limited (N21.754bn or 11.82%); EFCP Limited (N19.117bn or 10.39%), and African Alliance Stockbrokers Limited (N9.248bn or 5.03%).

Further details show that FBN Securities Limited accounted for stock transactions valued at N7.982 billion or 4.34 percent; Apel Asset Limited (N6.183bn or 3.36%); Chapel Hill Denham Securities Limited (N5.646bn or 3.07%); Vetiva Capital Management Limited (N4.694bn or 2.55%), and Partnership Securities Limited (N3.562bn or 1.94%).

In terms of volume of transaction by stockbrokers, ARM Securities Limited and Cordros Capital Limited joined the top 10 listed after occupying the fifth and eight positions, respectively, while Rencap Securities (Nig) Limited, CSL Stockbrokers Limited and Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited, respectively, occupied the topmost positions in terms of trading volume followed by EFCP Limited, FBN Securities Limited, African Alliance Stockbrokers Limited, Partnership Securities Limited, and Apel Asset Limited.
