Shareholders of Courteville approve N71.04m dividend payout

Shareholders of Courteville Business Solutions plc Tuesday at the company’s ninth annual general meeting in Lagos approved a dividend pay out of N71.04million which translates to 2kobo per ordinary share of 50kobo, payable net of withholding tax.

The dividend will be paid to the company’s shareholders whose names appear in the register of the members at the close of business on May 12, 2014 while dividend warrants for the shareholders will be dispatched on June 11, 2014.  

Also at the meeting, shareholders adopted the annual report and financial statements of the company for the year ended December 31, 2013 which showed turnover growth of 22% to N1.28billion from N1.06billion in 2012.

Profit before tax rose to N403.029million in 2013 from N374.202million in 2012. Profit after tax rose from N298.321million in 2012 to N307.804million in 2013. The company’s financial highlights show its shareholders funds rose to N2.965billion in 2013 from N2.817billion in 2012.

Murtala Osuolale Salami, chairman, Courteville Business Solutions plc told shareholder at the meeting that “the growth opportunities presented by the developments in the macro-environment as well as the competitive challenges in our sector, have only stirred up our excitement.”

According to Salami, “the evolving business and delivery models and changing expectations of customers on value adds and demand for cost advantages, alongside the emergence of disruptive new technologies around the cloud, mobility and social media, have all been closely monitored and identified”.

He said that the company’s new strategic direction is couched to enable it effectively respond and adopt to these emerging futures and prepare it for the attendant challenges, adding that “It is a strategic direction that is set to see us redefine the industry for a long term and sustainable growth”.
