Biola recently announced the launch of her new leadership development project, ‘Grooming for Greatness’. The Grooming for Greatness and Purpose Foundation was born from the premise that everyone, irrespective of social or economic standing, deserves the opportunity to realize his or her full potential. Fellows receive training and development such that they harness, develop, and achieve their greatest potential as African leaders.

The Foundation’s mission is to identify exceptional leadership talent, whose core motivation and desire to give back to the community make them ideal candidates for a Fellowship.

“The goal of Grooming for Greatness is to identify and mentor 12 exceptional young people through a year-long programme, which will commence with a 3-day on-boarding event. This event will bring together leaders who have excelled in various sectors, so they can pass on their values to the next generation of African leaders, empowering them to create a vision for their own lives that affects their society.” She says.

At the heart of the Grooming for Greatness program is the conviction that with the right information and insight, a mentor, and access to African leaders who epitomize outstanding success, Fellows can create a compelling vision for themselves and begin to expand that vision forward.

With the help of development and empowerment organizations, the program is currently recruiting its first class in Lagos, Nigeria. This inaugural class will pave the way for this initiative, expanding in partnership with forward thinking corporations and organizations that share its vision.

For Biola, “The lack of good leadership has been elaborated for decades, and is seen as the reason, quite rightly, for the underdevelopment in Nigeria and the continent at large. That is what Grooming for Greatness is: a partnership to improve the quality of governance in Africa in the long term. In my time in the media, I have seen its limitless potential to effect change on small and large scales.” She concludes.

A group of no more than 20 hand-picked participants will be guided through the curated programme of workshops, discussions and seminars to help harness their potential and discover greatness.

The subjects to be addressed are: Immersive leadership, strength based leadership, leading with purpose, building a meaningful career, building powerful networks and creating influence. There will also be one on one mentoring which will be an intricate feature of the program.

Applications are now open on the website for interested candidates to find out information about the program and register – on www.groomingforgreatness.com

Through the Biola Alabi Media Consultancy, Biola is also focussed on growing her contribution to the African media landscape as it continues to rapidly diversify.
