The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday debunked report that its chairman, Attahiru Jega, has been sent on ‘compulsory terminal leave’. It said the report was a hoax without substance. Kayode Idowu, the chief press secretary to INEC chairman, disclosed to BusinessDay that the said report which he described as “idle report” should be disregarded. It would be recalled that the All Progressives Congress (APC) senators had last week raised the alarm over the alleged plot by the presidency to send chairman of INEC on compulsory terminal leave. The APC senators claimed that they received information from a credible source to the effect that the INEC chairman would be given a letter by the office of Head of Service (HOS), directing him to proceed on terminal leave this week
