Tacci, a new tech-driven mobility startup, is making waves by combining digital payments, verification systems, and real-time tracking to reshape how daily commuters move around the city.
It has a mobile app that isn’t just for hailing rides but has several sophisticated features embedded in it to improve safety, budgeting, and transparency.
The startup has tech at the core with digital wallets, QR Codes, and smart verification amid growing frustration with unpredictable public transport costs and safety concerns.

According to Tacci Africa, passengers set a weekly or monthly transport budget in-app, allowing them to easily see how much they’ve spent and plan. Then, payment is processed via a built-in digital wallet, eliminating the need for cash and enabling smoother journeys.
It noted that vehicles display a Tacci QR code sticker, then commuters scan the QR code to verify the taxi/driver before boarding — a measure that helps reduce fraud or danger from unauthorised operators.
There is also real-time tracking and SOS emergency buttons, which are built into the app. These enhance security by letting riders track their journey live & signal authorities in case of a problem.
These features position Tacci as more than a ride-hail app but a mobility platform that puts technology at the centre of everyday commuting.

Tacci also claims to use route-optimisation tools to plan efficient paths, reduce wait and travel time, expense tracking dashboards, and a ‘lost-and-found’ feature to recover items forgotten in taxis.
Tacci, through its add-on features, is developing a technology stack that involves mapping/routing APIs, secure payments infrastructure, user-data dashboards, and backend services for driver verification & liability checks.
