Gunmen have reportedly abducted Bobbo Paschal, a Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Kaduna.
Paschal, the Parish Priest of St. Stephen Parish, Kushe Gugdu in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was taken from his residence in the early hours of Monday.
A brother to Rev. Fr. Anthony Yero was also killed during the attack, while several other residents were abducted.
The incident was confirmed in a statement signed by Christian Okewu Emmanuel, the Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Kaduna, and addressed to priests, religious and the laity of the Archdiocese.
The statement reads in part: “Dear brothers and sisters, abduction of Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal. I write to inform you of the attack on Kushe Gugdu and the abduction of one of our priests, Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal, Parish Priest of St. Stephen Parish, Kushe Gugdu, in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, from his residence during the early hours of today, Monday, November 2025. During the attack, many others were abducted, and the brother of Rev. Anthony Yero was killed.”
The Archdiocese appealed for prayers, calling on “all men and women of goodwill to join us in praying for their safety and quick release from the hands of their abductors, and for the peaceful repose of the dead.”

The development comes amid growing global outcry over alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria.
Efforts to obtain confirmation from the Kaduna State Police Command were unsuccessful, as the Police Public Relations Officer did not answer calls or respond to text messages.
