A socio-cultural group, Ndigbo Lagos, during the week hailed the performance of Stella Oduah, ex-aviation minister, in the sector saying it was unparalleled with past regimes.
Anya O. Anya, president general of the group at a reception organised to award her in Lagos, said the award was in recognition of her immense contribution in transforming the aviation sector into a world class standard, adding that ‘it will remain a reference point by industry players and other stakeholders for several years to come.
He said part of her laudable programmes had brought international recognition to the group in concrete terms by facilitating the building of an international airport in Enugu, South-East region.
According to Anya, the group regards this singular feat as a great achievement because of how long it took to realise it and the rapid economic growth it would bring to the region.
He noted that all the great contributions and achievements of the group in government and in business have become the success story which Nigeria showcases to the whole world as her development milestone.
He therefore urged all Igbos to remain resolute and continue to contribute their quota to the development of the nation despite the daunting leadership and security challenges plaguing Nigeria.
Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion, Oduah said: “It is a confirmation that truly there is dignity in labour and that we should all strive wherever we find ourselves to ensure that Nigeria is properly developed.”
