The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila is leading a delegation of the National Assembly to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference holding in Kampala, Uganda.
The delegation comprised of the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, some Senators and Members of the House of Representatives.
The conference, which is expected to last until September 29, has the theme ‘Adaptation, engagement and evolution of parliaments in a rapidly changing Commonwealth.’
During the conference, the Nigerian delegation would join other parlimentarians to identify solutions to challenges that are commonly faced by member parliaments as well as enhance democratic values and practices.
The Commonwealth flagship event will bring together over 500 parliamentarians, parliamentary staff and decision-makers from across the Commonwealth for this unique conference and networking opportunity.
The conference offers the prospect of the coming together of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA’s) global membership of Parliamentarians and Parliamentary staff to address the critical issues facing today’s Parliaments.
