Both the suspended governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara, and the Sole Administrator, Ibok Ekwe Ibas have sent messages to the people of the troubled state on Easter.
Governor Fubara was first to send earlier on Saturday, April 19, 2025, but late in the evening, the Sole Administrator sent his.
Fubara, through Nelson Chukwudi, his media aide, said: “As we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, this Easter, I bring you warm greetings and heartfelt felicitations.
“Easter is a sacred season of reconciliation and unity. It is a time when the peace of Christ dwells richly in our hearts, restoring relationships, comforting the afflicted, feeding the hungry, and healing the brokenhearted.
“It is a time to reaffirm our shared belief that peace shall overcome war, and that even shattered dreams can find new life in the light of the resurrection.”
The governor said this season renews the peoples confidence that nothing, neither hardship, nor adversity, nor even death, can separate people from the love of God in Christ. “In Him, we remain victorious.

“Therefore, I call on the good people of Rivers State to continue to support and align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of our dear President, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, while looking forward to a better tomorrow.

In his own message, Ibas saluted the people of the state and called them “Dear Christian Brothers and Sisters in Rivers State.”
He said as the people approach the joyous celebration of Easter, “I extend my warmest greetings to all Christians across our beloved state. This sacred season reminds us of the triumph of hope, love, and redemption—the very essence of Christ’s resurrection.”
He said Easter is a time for deep reflection on the sacrifices of our Lord Jesus Christ and a renewal of our faith in God’s boundless grace. It is also an opportunity to embrace the virtues of peace, unity, and compassion in our homes, communities, and the entire state.
“As we gather with family and friends to celebrate, let us remember the less privileged among us and extend a hand of kindness. May the spirit of Easter inspire us to work together for the progress, security, and harmony of Rivers State.
“On behalf of the Rivers State Government, I wish you all a blessed and joyful Easter celebration. May the risen Lord fill your hearts with hope, your lives with prosperity, and our state with enduring peace.”
