Has the governor of Rivers State his SIM card in his phone? His name is simply Sim Fubara where Sim is for Siminalaiyi. It did not take time for those who could not call it well to shorten it to Sim. Now, SIM is short for Subscriber Identity Module, a term used mostly in the telecommunications industry. It is the chip that contains details of the owner of a mobile phone.
People easily change any SIM that is not connecting fast to networks. Could this be what Gov Fubara has done by removing the PDP SIM to APC chip? He defected quietly two weeks ago after his visit to Abuja, particularly Aso Rock.
Since he changed SIM, things seem to fall in pleasurable places for him. First, important personalities in the FG or those regarded as Tinunbites have frequented PH. Festus Keyamo (minister of aviation) visited and in fact administered the SIM swap. Now, Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, has visited the Brick House where good handshake took place. Tony Okocha, the state APC boss, factional anyway, has never insulted or berated Fubara anymore. More, different groups now seem to edge close to him, seeing as the new Tinunbite, the one that may carry the knife and the carrot, soon.

Many former enemies now seem to want selfies with Fubara.
The biggest rumour is that the National Working Committee (NWC) has endorsed Fubara for 2027, after adopting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. If this be true, this may be the greatest political fortune turn in recent history of the state.
Fubara began by losing everything: he lost his guber seat when he bagged a suspension, he lost his men that controlled the 23 LGAs and thus lost the structure at that level, he lost many bureaucrats who were suspended or sacked when he was temporally removed, he had since lost the Rivers State House of Assembly, he lost the battle to get rid of the lawmakers, apparently lost the right to aspire to anything in 2027, he lost everything.
When he went alone to negotiate for his return to power, many castigated him, saying he was grossly cheated.
Now, the silent-looking governor has started regaining all. Soon, he may regain the power to appoint whoever he chose to as commissioner.
This is what change of SIM may mean these days, especially to Fubara.
