The Dr. Olaolu Mudasiru Foundation has marked the third-year remembrance of the late Olaolu “Dr. Bob” Mudasiru, highlighting milestones achieved and the impact of its programmes over the past year.
The remembrance focused on the work of the Foundation, which was established to honour the life and legacy of Dr. Bob. The Foundation continues to implement initiatives that support education, promote the arts, nurture young talent, champion wellness, and support underserved communities.
Formally established in March 2024 as a Non-Governmental Organisation, the Foundation was created to preserve Dr. Bob’s commitment to excellence and service. It commenced full activities following its launch in July 2024, during which over N218 million was raised through donations and art sales. The funds have supported the rollout of its programmes since inception.
As part of the third-year remembrance, the Foundation announced the award of scholarships to seven young Nigerians. The scholarships cover tuition, accommodation, and living expenses, and are aimed at academically strong students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The Foundation said the support is designed to help recipients pursue their education without financial pressure.
The announcement builds on the Foundation’s first scholarship award, which was presented in August 2024 to Eniolaoluwa John Sohe, recognised as the Best Graduating Student of the Nigerian Military School, Zaria.
Beyond scholarships, the Foundation continues to run programmes across its other focus areas. These include initiatives that promote the arts, mentor emerging talent, advance cycling as a sport, drive wellness campaigns, and support community-based projects targeted at underserved groups.
Speaking during the remembrance, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Ohis Ohiwerei, reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to sustaining the values associated with Dr. Bob, including hard work, ingenuity, and service to humanity. He said the Foundation would continue to build partnerships to strengthen its programmes and extend their reach.
The Foundation expressed appreciation to donors, partners, and supporters for their continued contributions, and called on the public to remain engaged in supporting its mission and preserving the legacy of Dr. Bob.
