The federal government of Nigeria says it is quite upbeat with the Renewed Hope Agenda on Housing, as the units being built in Kano are near completion and getting set for commissioning.
Ahmed Dangiwa, Minister of Housing and Urban Development, disclosed recently that President Bola Tinubu will be commissioning the units in Kano in the next few weeks.
Dangiwa, who spoke with journalists after an inspection tour of the Renewed Hope Cities in Tabarak Allah and Lambu districts in Kano metropolis, noted that the project aligns with President Tinubu’s commitment to providing affordable housing for Nigerians under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He explained that the contractors have been given a six-week deadline to finalise finishing touches and make necessary modifications to the original plan before the commissioning.
“The buildings are already completed, while the provision of water and electricity is nearing completion,” the minister said.
Dangiwa noted that the ministry has instructed contractors to create a designated demarcation for delivery trucks to prevent further damage to the access roads to the estate located along Lambu Road.
He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s resolve to ensure quality and timely delivery of housing projects across the country.
The minister was accompanied by Yusuf Atta, the Minister for State for Housing, the chief of staff to the minister, and other management staff from the ministry.

BusinessDay gathered that the mandate of the Renewed Hope Housing Cities and Estates Scheme was geared towards delivering 100,000 homes to Nigerians, especially families on low to middle income across the country.
The initiative is a key component of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the federal government with the ultimate objective of unleashing Nigeria’s full economic potential through strategic investments.
