The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced a temporary suspension of its online recruitment portal as part of efforts to enhance its performance and ensure a smoother application process for prospective candidates.
In a statement, the board disclosed that the recruitment portal, https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng would be inaccessible until Monday, July 21, 2025.
The decision, the board explained, is aimed at improving the platform’s capacity to manage the high volume of traffic it has received since the recruitment exercise officially commenced.
The portal, which opened on Monday, July 14, is being used for recruitment into four major paramilitary agencies: the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigerian Correctional Service, the Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Immigration Service.
“We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies and are committed to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process,” the CDCFIB stated.

The board assured applicants that the temporary shutdown is a proactive measure to ensure that the recruitment exercise is transparent, efficient, and user-friendly.
The recruitment process was scheduled to begin on June 26, but it was later shifted to July 14.
The application window is currently expected to close on August 4, 2025.
However, the CDCFIB did not clarify whether the portal’s suspension would lead to an extension of the deadline.
The board urged the public to remain patient and to disregard unofficial sources of information regarding the exercise.
