The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has introduced dedicated phone lines to enable residents to report uncollected waste across the FCT for swift intervention.
This was announced on Tuesday in Abuja by Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communications and Social Media.
According to him, residents can reach the authorities through the following numbers: 08038643087, 07011073406, 07011255710, and 09114843425.
He encouraged the public to use WhatsApp to forward photographs and video clips of refuse that has not been cleared, stressing the importance of including accurate location details.
“Residents should report any area with uncleared waste by sending images or videos along with the exact location so the responsible contractors can be identified,” he explained.
Olayinka noted that the initiative is part of efforts to tackle the increasing waste management challenges in the nation’s capital by holding sanitation contractors accountable for timely service delivery.
He added that this measure would contribute significantly to maintaining a cleaner and healthier Abuja.
