Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have arrested three suspected kidnappers and rescued 17-year-old Sadiya Idris, who was abducted from Akaraka Village, Gwagwa.
According to police sources cited by Zagazola Makama, a counterterrorism expert, Sadiya’s father reported her disappearance on March 21, 2025.
“Three days later, the kidnappers contacted him, demanding a ₦13 million ransom for her release.
“Acting on intelligence, police operatives tracked the suspects to Bassa Village, behind Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
“On March 25, they successfully rescued the teenager unharmed and apprehended three suspects including Abdurahman Mohammed, Jibrin Isyaku, and Tahir Isyaku, all residents of Akaraka village.”, Makama reported.
The suspects, according to Makama, are currently in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) and undergoing interrogation.
The Police have assured that further investigations are ongoing to dismantle the criminal network.
