The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested three wanted and notorious kidnappers linked to multiple abductions across Abuja and Kaduna State.
The arrest, which was described as a major breakthrough by the Police, was carried out on Saturday, June 29, 2025, following actionable intelligence and a carefully coordinated operation led by Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Victor O. Godfrey.
According to a statement issued by Josephine Adeh, FCT Police Public Relations Officer, the operation spanned Wukushi in Mpape, FCT, and Rigina in Kaduna State, leading to the arrest of the trio identified as Abdulkadir Abubakar of Mpape, FCT; Mohammed Tasiu Sani, 25, from Rigina, Kaduna State; and Suleiman Jibrin, 27, of Sabon-Gayan, Kaduna State.

The suspects are believed to be behind several high-profile kidnapping operations and were known to operate from camps hidden deep within the forests of Kachia and Rigina in Kaduna State.
Police say their camps served as holding grounds where abducted victims were kept for extended periods until ransom payments were made.
Among the items recovered during the operation was a rugged, high-powered motorcycle popularly referred to as a “Boko Haram motorcycle,” often associated with insurgent and bandit operations in difficult terrains.
According to the statement, the police have launched further efforts to recover additional weapons and apprehend other fleeing members of the gang.
The arrested suspects are currently in police custody and are said to be cooperating with investigators, offering critical information that could help dismantle their wider criminal network.
Ajao Adewale, Commissioner of Police FCT, CP who commended the bravery and professionalism of the officers involved, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to rooting out criminal elements from the nation’s capital.

He also called on residents to remain vigilant and provide the Police with credible information to aid ongoing security efforts.
“This arrest is a clear message to criminal gangs that the FCT will not serve as a haven for their activities. We are intensifying our operations and remain relentless in our pursuit of peace and security across the territory,” Adewale said.
