First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has reiterated its commitment to provide a flexible financing model for small businesses, in its drive to bring more people into the formal economy.
Yemisi Edun, managing director/CEO, FCMB, said the bank is committed to promising flexible financing for businesses, by committing to bridging the financial inclusion gap of host communities.
She made this known during the recent commissioning of a new branch of FCMB in Sangotedo, highlighting the new branch’s strategic location, noting its proximity to major infrastructure, including the Lekki–Epe corridor, Dangote Refinery, and Deep-Sea Port.
Edun, who was represented by Emmanuel Comla, national head of sales, FCMB, reaffirmed FCMB’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable banking development by connecting people, capital and markets.
Ademola Idowu, group head, operations and international trade services, FCMB, highlighted the bank’s commitment to delivering excellent and sustainable services. He noted that the new branch operates on renewable energy and is fully integrated into FCMB’s digital ecosystem.
“This includes offering mobile and internet banking, reliable ATMs, and an efficient queue management system. Furthermore, a solar-powered backup ensures uninterrupted operations and consistent service for customers.”
John Ogundare, chairman, Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area, stated that the branch opening is a testament to the growth and potential of the community.
He expressed an eagerness for the new branch to become a pillar of support by impacting the economy and the daily lives of the people of the community. “Today marks a significant milestone for Sangotedo and the entire Eti-Osa.”
Ogundare also urged the bank to actively support small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs), recognising them as economic development catalysts crucial to local prosperity.
Abiodun Ogunbo, the traditional ruler of Ogombo Kingdom, stressed the critical need for banking services for residents and businesses within the community.
Ogunbo, who was represented by Lukman Lawal, the Aro of Ogombo Kingdom, stated that he is optimistic that the new branch would create new opportunities and boost economic activity in Sangotedo.
