Nigerian Aviation firm, Falcon Aerospace Limited, has appointed Captain Ahmed Borodo as a Non-Executive Director as the company consolidates it recent global expansion.
Borodo is a businessman, pilot and the CEO of Flybird Aircraft Management Services Limited, a fully licensed business aviation firm operating in Nigeria.
“As we grow and consolidate our position in the business aviation market across Africa and the rest of the world, we are constituting our board with eminent personalities whose vision and qualities align with our values, “said CEO, Erika Achum.
“Therefore, I am delighted to welcome Captain Ahmed Borodo to the board as non-executive director.”
“He was instrumental to our take off as a firm and we have taken our relationship further through the partnership between Falcon and Flybird to create Aruba-based OrientJets in 2024,” Achum added.
Falcon Aerospace Limited is the mother brand for business aviation firm, VivaJets, which provides aircraft charter, management, sales and acquisition services with a focus on innovation and accessibility.
In just two years, Falcon Aero has grown into a fully licensed aviation company with expanding global routes, international collaborations, and pioneering innovations. Alongside VivaJets, Falcon Aero boasts digital aviation platforms, FlyPJX and CharterXE, and tech and business incubation firms, Instig Labs and The Adrenalina.
In January 2025, the Falcon Aero obtained its Air Operating Certificate (AOC) from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). In October, the firm announced that it had secured a $10 million debt investment from British-based TLG Capital to support further expansion and operational stability.

According to Tejumade Salami, Chief Operating Officer, Borodo will provide independent oversight and strategic counsel in his role as Non-Executive Director, helping to steer Falcon Aerospace toward new heights in a rapidly evolving global market.

Ahmed Borodo has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Development Studies from Ado Bayero University, Kano.
He obtained FAA Private Pilot License (PPL) in 2007 and further obtained Commercial Multi-Engine Certifications from Flight Safety International in the United States. Prior to starting Flybird Aircraft Management Services, he worked as a pilot for Virgin Nigeria Airways, Gyro Air, and Azman Air Services.
In addition to Falcon Aero, he currently serves on the board of Airalay Capital Limited, Rehoboth Insurance Brokers, and Flybird Capital Group, Mauritius.
Captain Borodo brings several years of distinguished experience in the aviation industry where he has earned a reputation for operational excellence, strategic foresight, and a deep commitment to aviation safety and management standards.
