Achieving global best practice and its strategic contribution to the development of the economy is among the issues that chief executives, human resource directors, managers and practitioners, members of the diplomatic corps, and stakeholders in human capital management will tackle in Abuja at the 47th annual national conference organised by Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM)
The annual national conference serves as a reference point for HR practitioners and business leader, practitioners meet to review and improve on existing hr and business practices in line with global best practices and current economic trends.
Anthony Arabome, president/chairman of council while commenting on the importance of the conference in Lagos said CIPM is set to review and chart a new course for the human resource management practice and as usual lend a voice in contributing to public policy and advocacy within the professional calling at national.
According to him, “it is clear that the HR profession has supported businesses in making effective people management decisions in managing the current economic realities; this year we can and we should expect more at the 47th annual national conference as we go beyond”.
Arabome observed that the conference scheduled for 14-16 October 2015 will focus on work, the workforce, the workplace and the economy.
He further added that the 2015 CIPM annual national conference will feature 4 plenary and 10 masters series sessions to be handled by seasoned leaders and hr experts.
According to him, “Few of the notable speakers at this event would include Yemi Kale, the Statistician General of the Federation, National Bureau of Statistics) facilitating the second plenary session titled “driving performance in public service’’.
The third plenary session tagged ‘beyond here and now’’ would be handled by Fela Durotoye, the CEO, Gemstone Group). Other notable speakers at the event include Thomas Weir – author and CEO, Emerging Markets Leadership Center (EMLC), Peter Cheese – the CEO, Chartered Institute Of Personnel And Development, Uk.
