The office of Walter Onnoghen, the Chief Justice of Nigeria suspended last Friday by President Muhammadu Buhari has been sealed by men of the Nigeria police force.

This was revealed by sources from the Supreme Court as they disclosed the CJN’s office was locked on Monday morning, in what appear to be a confirmation to his suspension.

“The police have sealed the office of the CJN. Officers and men of the Force went to the administrative staff offices at about 7am and ordered clerical and other staff who were already at their desks to leave after which they locked up everywhere,” a source said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Tuesday is scheduled by the National Judicial Council for an emergency meeting to deliberate on the unexpected suspension of Onnoghen and swearing in of Acting CJN, Justice Tanko Muhammad by President Buhari.
