‎The Vice President said the Federal government is deeply saddened by the lack of capacity of the distribution companies to absorb more megawatts from generating companies. He pointed out that the generating capacity has appreciated above 7000 megawatts, but distribution is slightly above 4000 megawatts.
‎”We are at the moments dealing with the constraints of distribution. The two notable policy intervention by NERC with their issue of eligible customer directive, and will this month issue directive on independent metering”
He explained that, “The eligible customers bring together willing sellers and buyers arrangement in the sale of power. Also, the independent metering directive allows requisite power companies to sell and distribute meters and to customers. This would address distribution grid-lock concerns.”
