The naira held steady against the dollar on the interbank market on Monday, in thin trade and amid expectations of dollar sales by state energy firm the NNPC.
The local unit closed at 164.05 to the dollar, the same level it closed on Friday.
Traders said many importers were not willing to take positions in the market as a result of a possible appreciation of the naira after the expected dollar sales by the NNPC, the amount of which was not known
