In separate filings on the Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday, FCMB and Stanbic IBTC posted increased half-year profit from that reported a year ago.
FCMB said its half-year pretax profit rose to N11.14 billion, up 5 percent from N10.64 billion a year ago while Stanbic IBTC’s first-half pretax profit rose 50 percent to N19.62 billion.
Gross earning at FCMB rose to N69.62 billion during the six months period to June 30 as against N63.29 billion in the same period of last year.
Stanbic IBTC reported that its gross earnings rose 13 percent to N61.47 billion during the six months period.
The mid-tier lender proposed a dividend payment of N1.10 naira per share.
It will pay the dividend on August 26.
