The Kano State Water Board has generated N247.4 million within the last three months, Mohammed Auwal, the Managing Director, Commercial Services said in Kano on Monday.

The amount was part of the board’s target revenue of N1.9 billion for the year.

‘’We plan to collect N1.9 billion this year as our target revenue, hence our decision to intensify effort toward ensuring that people pay their water bill promptly,” he said.

Auwal said the board also planned to complete all the projects which it initiated in 2014 with a view to ensuring effective service delivery.

He said that the water pipelines being laid in Tsanyawa town would be completed within the year.

“Other projects may come in when the new government is inaugurated,” Auwal said.

The managing director, said the board had introduced a number of measures aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability among its revenue collectors.

“We are also planning to introduce new system of paying bills to reduce the hardship being experienced by our customers when paying their water bills,” Auwal said.
