Julius Berger records impressive Q1’2014, profits surge 18.23 %

Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, the country’s largest construction company has released Q1’2014 which showed growth at both top and bottom line level.

For the three months period through March 2014, the company spiked revenue by 20.76 percent to N47.69 billion from 39.64 billion as at Q1’2013.
Profit before tax in the review period rose by 18.23 percent to N2.59 billion compared with N2.19 billion as at Q1’2013. While profit after tax increased by 5.21 percent to N1.31 billion in the review period.
Based on BussinessDay analysis, series of contracts won by the company in 2012, may have started contributing immensely to group performance.
Earnings per share EPS rose by 1.80 percent to 1.13k in Q1’14 from 1.11K as at Q1’13
Share holders wealth have been maximized as share price increased by 36.90 percent in the past one year to close at 69.40 May 6th 2014 on the floor of the Nigeria Stock Exchange.
Market capitalization of the company was N83.28 billion on the same day, while shares outstanding were 1.2 billion.
