Accreditation and voting began simultaneously at exactly 8.00am today in the much awaited Edo gubernatorial election.
At Ogbomoide Primary School, Iruekpen in Esan West local government area of Edo central senatorial district accreditation and voting started few minutes past 8 am on a peaceful note. Some registered voters were seen busy checking for their names on the votes’ register which had been pasted on the on the school walls.

At Iyamho village in Etsako West local government area in Edo North senatorial district the home town of outgoing governor, Adams Oshomole, accreditation and voting started by 8am.
Also in Oredo local area in Edo South senatorial district voting exercise has also started in some areas as well as in Okada town in Ovia North-East local government area.

Unlike in the past when the electorate had to be accredited and then return later i the day to cast their ballot, the new rule Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) rule stipulates that the electorate cast their vote immediately after accreditation.
