Tolulope Longe to chair 2025 bullion lecture on Nigeria’s $1-trillion energy vision

Tolulope Longe, the national president of Women in Energy, Oil and Gas (WEOG) has been announced as the chairperson for the 2025 Bullion Lecture.

The event, themed “Architecting the Energy Sector for Nigeria’s $1-Trillion Economy Vision,” will be held on April 10, 2025, at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Organised by the Centre for Financial Journalism (CFJ), the high-profile lecture will feature Barth Nnaji, founder/CEO of Geometric Power Limited, as the keynote speaker.

A panel including Victor Okoronkwo, group managing director, Aiteo E&P and Ogho Okiti, CEO, Think Business Africa will dissect Nnaji’s presentation. Adebayo Adelabu, the minister of power will attend as Special Guest of Honour.

Longe, a first- class chemistry graduate from the University of Ibadan, holds advanced degrees from Imperial College London (MBA) and a Master of Technology in Petroleum Technology (with distinction). With nearly three decades of experience in oil and gas, she has held strategic roles at Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), driving innovations in LNG project development, commercial strategy, and operational excellence.

Currently manager, commercial contracts management at NLNG, Longe is renowned for her contributions to Nigeria’s energy policy discourse and her advocacy for women’s leadership in the sector.

The Bullion Lecture, now in its 9th edition, serves as a critical platform for economic and energy policy debates. This year’s theme aligns with the federal government’s vision to leverage the energy sector as a catalyst for a $1-trillion GDP economy.

Ray Echebiri, founder/CEO of CFJ, stated: “Nigeria’s energy sector is pivotal to sustainable economic growth. This lecture will explore actionable strategies to harness its potential.”

The event will draw government officials, industry leaders, bankers, academics, diplomats, and media professionals, reflecting its significance in shaping Nigeria’s energy future.
