…Praises president over approval of Sports University in Owan Federal Constituency
The Chief Executive Officer of Eki Co-Net Technologies Ltd, Godwin Aigboviose Omage, has sent greetings to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 73rd birthday, praying the Almighty God to continue to bless him with sound health.
In a statement he signed, a copy of which was made available to BusinessDay, Omage said: “On this special day, I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating your life, leadership, and unwavering commitment to our great nation.
“As you mark another year, I extend my deepest gratitude for your bold vision, audacious decisions, and steadfast dedication to Nigeria’s progress.
“Heavenly Father, we lift up our leader in gratitude and prayer. Thank You for granting him the wisdom and strength to guide our nation with vision and purpose.
“May You continue to bless him with sound health, clarity of mind, and unwavering resolve to serve with integrity and justice.”
Expressing gratitude to the President on the approval of a Sports University in Owan West/East Federal Constituency of Edo State, Omage said: “Your unwavering commitment to national development has not gone unnoticed. The decision to establish a Sports University in Owan Federal Constituency.
“I humbly urge you to ensure that contractors are mobilised to site while it is still day. This institution will stand as a testament to your dedication to education and youth development.
“This is our country, and we will not allow anyone to deter us. We will continue pushing Nigeria’s image on different platforms until our voices reach your table.”
Making case for government’s support for startups, who he said are sometimes victims of exploitation while sourcing for foreign funding, Omage said: “Your Excellency, I also take this moment to appeal to you to support startup companies like Eki Co-Net.
“It is discouraging that young Nigerian innovators must go through excessive financial strain to secure funding from Western sources, only to fall victim to exploitation.
“I, too, have suffered from investment scams orchestrated by fraudulent foreign actors.
“After conducting due diligence and making payments through approved channels, they vanish, and our hard-earned resources are lost.
“Yet, nothing is done to protect struggling fintech startups like ours. Mr. President, you have been blessed with visionary youths eager to help you succeed. Politics is not the only force that shapes a nation.
“There are three key institutions that drive national transformation: innovators are leading in that category. Politicians, at best, regulate and tax.
“As you celebrate this new year of your life, I urge you to resolve to protect Nigerians—especially those leading innovation and technology.
“May this message be received in good faith, for the prosperity of our dear nation. Happy Birthday, Your Excellency.”
Praising Tinubu for his resilience and tenacity, the entrepreneur said: “Mr. President, we recognise the weight of leadership and the many battles you have fought for the good of our nation. Long life is not good enough, but a good life is long enough.
“You have served tirelessly, making courageous choices that shape our future. But leadership is also about knowing when to rest.
“If the time ever comes when fatigue sets in, do not let adversaries force you into decisions that could tarnish your legacy.
“A good name is better than riches. No political alliance is worth the sacrifice of your well-earned reputation. I deeply admire your audacity—your unwillingness to relent in the face of adversity.
“You have made bold decisions that set Nigeria on a transformative path, and for that, history will remember you.
“Nigerians love you, Mr. President, and we want you to enjoy the fruits of your labour, spending quality time with your children and grandchildren.
“On this day, I want you to be aware that I will not tire of writing letters addressing national development.
“We are committed to Nigeria’s future, and our voices must be heard. Today is the tomorrow we were promised yesterday.”
