The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested a medical doctor allegedly ferrying drugs from Sokoto to kidnappers operating in parts of Kwara State.

The suspect was intercepted in the Jebba area following intelligence reports on the activities of the kidnapping syndicates and their couriers.
According to security sources, the criminal gangs are increasingly desperate for medical attention due to gunshot wounds sustained during recent clashes with security forces.

“We are advising enhanced security measures in health facilities located in heavily forested areas, as these could become targets for the kidnappers,” a security official said according to a statement by Rafiu Ajakaye, chief press secretary to the Kwara State governor.
