Diamond Bank Plc, one of the leading commercial banks in Nigeria, has rewarded 41 loyal customers in a new brand promo tagged “DiamondXtra Season 9” with a total of N25 million and a brand new Kia model car. This is part of the banks initiatives for rewarding loyalty of customers who have staying with the bank for years.
At the DiamondXtra Season 9 Promo and Rewards held in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital recently, 41 loyal customers benefited from the brand promotion. 30 customers won N500,000 each; 10 customers won N10 million; another customer, Grace Adegbite, won a brand new car.
Osite Ede, head of Diamond Bank’s market segment, said that the programme was organized to reward loyalty and help tackle the economic crisis in the country.
Ede said that massive rewards of up to N137 million will be distributed to Nigerians to reward their loyalty over the years. He added that the bank’s management also plans to reward customers with N100,000 salary-for-life bonanza that will be paid every month to winners.
“So far, we have six thousand winners since the adventure of this draw, these are customers and ambassadors of Diamond Bank PLC,” Ede said. “These rewards are for customers from the Southwest, saying such programme is on-going at the South-South Region of Nigeria”.
Also, Aisha Ahmad, head of consumer banking, said that Diamond Bank is trying to put smile on people’s face despite the economic situation of the country, explaining that the 41 beneficiaries of rewards held in Abeokuta were chosen randomly through an electronic system.
“Some of these winners couldn’t believe until they were given the cheque,” she said.
Speaking on the amount spent yearly, Aishat noted that, Diamond Bank had spent over N600 million to eradicate poverty in the country since the beginning of that programme, urging everyone to participate in the draw by opening a Diamond Bank Account with N5,000 deposit.
One of the beneficiaries who spoke with our correspondent, Mayowa Busayo said, he was on his way travelling to Lagos when he received a call that he won N500,000 in Diamond Bank. “I couldn’t believe until today”, he exclaimed.
The car winner, a middle age woman, Grace Adegbite who spoke with newsmen expressed gratitude to Diamond Bank for giving her such an opportunity.
She said, “I have an account with Diamond Bank and I do deposit money into the account. I never knew anything until I was called that I won a brand new car from Diamond Bank to compensate me for my loyalty over the years.”
