Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborewvori has commended the Olu of Warri, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Ogiame Atuwatse III for his continued commitment in fostering peace and attracting investors to Warri.
Governor Oborewvori gave the commendation Thursday at the palace of the Olu of Warri during his 4th coronation anniversary ceremony
Oborewvori, while congratulating the Olu of Warri on his 4th coronation anniversary, described the monarch as a peace builder and urged the people of Warri to give him the necessary support for his reign to be smooth.
The governor, represented by the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor said the Olu of Warri’s advocacy for justice, equity and promotion of cultural pride, stands as an enduring legacy of modern enlightened leadership.
He added that the Olu of Warri has strengthened Warri space as an economic hub and enhanced Delta State attractiveness to the international community.
He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment in supporting traditional rulers in ensuring peace and tranquility in their domain.
The governor prayed for continued divine wisdom and good health for the monarch in order to enable him continue to effectively steer the affairs of his kingdom and contribute meaningfully to the progress of Delta State.
The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, while addressing the people of Iwere Kingdom and guests thanked God Almighty for a smooth and successful coronation anniversary that kicked off Monday.
He urged all Iwere sons and daughters to show love to one another, adding that the years of fighting and pulling each other down were over.
Ogiame Atuwatse III said that the kingdom was open for genuine repentant sons and daughters, calling on them to join in taking the kingdom to greater heights.
The monarch, while announcing his contribution of N750 million to reactivate the Iwere Trust Fund, called on sons and daughters of the kingdom to contribute to the funds, stressing that the money is not for sharing but for the betterment of the people.
He reminded the people that the monarch remains the head of the kingdom, pledging to attract more development to Iwere land.
The Olu of Warri later prayed for more peace and progress in the kingdom.
Earlier, the Ologbotsere family, palace chiefs, members of the state House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Emomotimi Guwor and various families and groups in the Warri Kingdom paid homage to the Olu of Warri.
The groups presented various gift items to the monarch to mark his 4th coronation anniversary.
