Cosmos Trade Nigeria Limited said it is set to empower more Nigerians with certification in food and beverage production.
According to the company, the certification acquired through special training in Gelato and Ice cream production aims to help holders explore seamless access to opportunities in the sector.
Tolani Olaniyi, business developer at Cosmos Trade Nigeria Limited speaking recently at the graduation and exhibition event of Gelato Gelato and Coffee university. said, “Generally, everyone wants to find themselves in the professional line. Everyone wants to be a doctor and others but the way the hospitality industry is growing, people are reconsidering plans to invest their capital in hospitality”.
“Our Gelato and Coffee university is a one stop shop for that. People come and acquire training in Gelato and Coffee making, open their own business or get seamless employment in any company dealing with this product.
“The training certification is what we do every time and we are the backend support for all the Gelato and Coffee production in Nigeria. This is a gift to Nigerians to come, own some skills and use it to further better their lives and businesses.”
Olaniyi added that the university also serves as a tourist attraction for enthusiasts who want to experience Gelato and Ice cream from manufacturing to consumption
He said the company desires to boost Nigeria’s tourism potential through its training outfit, Gelato and Coffee University, urging collaboration with schools and non-profit organisations to further strengthen the university’s impact and position Nigeria more as a culinary tourism destination.
“We work with the government, but it would be nice if we could do more with them and with every other relevant stakeholder.
“We would like to partner with the Bank of Industry. This is something that we can add to our tourism portfolio and bring more awareness,” he said.
According to him, the company was recently certified as the 13th Carpigiani Gelato University in the world.
“I see this as a very good thing for Lagos State and Nigeria, essentially because this can be added to our tourism portfolio here, and it can bring a lot of traction to our states and country,” he said.
