In a bid to celebrate International Women’s Day, premium quality Ankara fabric, Vlisco gathered women and their families to say a big thank you and also celebrate the uniqueness of womanhood.
Held at the Vlisco Boutique at the ikeja City Mall, the forum afforded clients of the fabric to bare their minds on how they juggle taking care of the home, their interests and working hard to move up the ladder of success in the corporate world and private businesses.
According to Adaeze Alilonu, Marketing Manager of Vlisco said , “women are strong people as they try so hard to be successful, they put in ten times more effort than men do to get to a successful level and most times they don’t want to take the credit for this, rather they give the credit to their husbands. We need to pat ourselves at the back and acknowledge that we have done well.
She said that the brand was now a hundred years and it has been at the fore front of empowering tailors and designers in Nigeria.
She added that Vlisco was partnering with Dana Air as every passenger would have a treat of Vlisco and people who patronize the ankara fabric would have opportunity to travel on the airline.
“We pride ourselves as a premium quality fabric that passes through 27 processes to emerge as a product. Now in our 100th year, we plan on various CSR projects as we’ve been doing. We came here to thank our customers and encourage them to continue. We partner the Autism school, St Patrick Speech & Language, empower young designers and entrpreneurs and celebrate some distinguished women yearly in a program,” Alilonu added.
Dotun Akande, Chief Executive Officer, St Patrick Speech & Language school, Designer Ejiro Amos-Tafari and Adaeze Alilonu who moderated all agreed that women needed to pamper themselves and look for something that helps them to detox after taking care of their families and their businesses, as a woman often neglect to praise herself.
