Sput Integrated Services Limited, a business development services provider, has commenced Sputton, a unique and innovative service in-road travel across Nigeria and the West African sub-region tailored towards enhancing bus travel operations, advance booking and reservation, e-ticketing and fare collection.

Sputton provides a one-stop solution (as an aggregator) for road travellers to book, pay for and obtain their travel tickets electronically at anytime and anywhere, thus providing a more convenient means of buying travel tickets.

According to Napoleon Omomila, CEO of the company, passengers can obtain their tickets and make advance bookings from anywhere. “The booking process has been simplified to ensure that passengers can obtain their tickets with just three simple steps online by – first, entering the departure point, destination and date of travel and find buses on the first page of the website; select and enter preferred bus operator, available pick-up and drop-off point, seat number, time of departure on the second page; and enter passenger details/profile and make payment on the third and final page,” Omomila said.

The website, with extended cyber security, uses SSL technology to further protect passengers from unwarranted access to their details on the internet. All passenger information is protected using the highest level of authentication and encryption.

At present, we have operators proving bus services to all major cities, with over 500 buses departing from various loading points across Nigeria, he said.

Kebiru Momodu, the company’s chief financial officer, said “Sputton has taken its time to signs up only bus operators who can provide standardised buses and who are willing to operate our customer-centric services i.e. those that are ready to move their customer service experience to globally competitive standards.

“Many more operators will be signed-on after they have agreed to our quality service delivery memorandum of understanding (MoU) before they can become visible on the website. Unlike any other service of its kind, we offer bus operators the opportunity of providing additional real-time administrative and financial reporting capabilities across all operational locations while integrating online and off-line transactions.

“The following operators have regularised their interest in the online services: Cross Country Transport; Okeyson Transport Company; Aniekan-Abasi Transport Company; De-Modern Transport Company; Optima Line; Amazing Grace Transport Company; DB Express Transport; Sanfran Transport; Ehisben Transport, and O.J. Transport.”

Their different operations cover most major cities in Nigeria, and we are currently at different stages of registration with other operators, he said.

According to a customer, this system is a direct answer to the yearnings of a growing number of transport owners and operators who desire a one-stop and robust road travel management system that improves efficiency and increase revenues.

The platform not only simplifies planning, scheduling and managing buses for the travel operators, it also provides a secure and convenient mode of on-line payment and fare collection.

With Sputton’s integrated approach bus operators can now offer their passengers centralised ticket booking and reservation service and easily manage advance bookings.
