One of Nigeria’s foremost promoters of the nation’s movie industry, the Nollywood Movies Awards (NMA), is set to hold its third edition of the award this year. To set the ball rolling, the NMA is presently calling for entries from industry stakeholders as preparations begin in earnest towards the grand event slated to hold October 18, 2014, in Lagos.

The 2014 edition of the award, with the theme ‘100 percent Nollywood,’ is called the ‘Centenary Edition’ in celebration of Nigeria’s 100 years anniversary marked earlier this year. On the entries, interested stakeholders are required to note that only English and Nigerian indigenous language movies produced, released or premiered between February 1, 2013, and April 31, 2014, will be eligible for consideration.

Submitted movies should not exceed 180 minutes and/or should be in a maximum of four parts. Short movies should not exceed 40 minutes. The deadline for submissions is June 30, with nominations to be announced in August. Thereafter, final decisions will be at the discretion of the nominations panel.

Entries, which must come in hard drive or DVDs, should be sent to SW1 Media, 18, Esomo Close, off Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos.
